Social, economic, ecologic and cultural responsibility is very important to us. The light weight scarf made of a kid mohair / silk mix is hand knitted on demand in Hamburg, Germany.
The yarn is made of Kid Mohair (from South Africa) and Mulberry Silk, it is sourced from Marten Handels GmbH via fairwool.com (fairalpaka.de) who focusses on sustainable standards ands imports the wool directly from the producer to Hamburg. By this the fair treatment of the mohair goats as well as the sheppards / producers is guaranteed.
The clothing labels are made and embroidered of cotton, they're produced by DORTEX in Germany.
The scarf is produced without any harmful additives or plastic substances and is therefore completely recyclable.
The price consists of material cost (199,90€/1kg Kid Mohair Silk) at a material use of approximately 150g and the care / product labels, loan cost of approximately 5-6 hours of knitting and a provision to Etsy of 5-10% depending on the payment option chosen. There is a plus of a marging of 2,5 which covers other costs as atelier rent or purchase of machines.

The mohair fibre is naturally odour and dirt resistant so don't wash too often. Air it out instead, or simply give it a cold hand wash with a gentle detergent and dry flat.
